The Dodge Journey of course......
Hey ! I wanted to tell you about our vehicle - A Dodge Journey RT 2015
OH MY GOSH, it's already 2 years old, lol, but we bought it brand new and it's mainly lived its' life indoors.
Biz Background
When we thought about creating a tourism venture of some kind, we wanted to support the things that we think are important. The whole early part of creating this business was all about putting it out to the Universe to guide us in creating a sustainable business that will ultimately benefit, not only ourselves but others as well. A number of synchronistic moments occurred and we felt that we needed to move quickly to incorporate ourselves and to get some capital behind us. <<That whole statement might seem a bit "wishy washy" or airy fairy or like new age whatsit - but I know that a lot of you will know exactly what I mean. Sometimes things happen and even though, it might not seem like it at the time, things happen for a reason. What I mean, is that even though, I kinda wish we had not made the investments we did because of the cost factor, I am certain (well certainly hopeful) that they will pay off!
The reason we decided to provide chauffeured transport for the Eastern Bay of Plenty and beyond is because our research into the industry showed us that it needs this. Yes, there are other chauffeur tour companies, but we didn't want to transport people in a stuffy sign written van, crummy people mover or even an ostentatious limousine. We wanted to be able to transport people in style & privacy in a less ostentatious manner. We wanted to allow multi-generational families to travel in privacy and comfort together. We looked at the ‘competition’ – the people / businesses that currently provide chauffeured transport and tours and realised that there is a need and plenty of room in the market for local & authentic tour guides/chauffeur drivers and places to see and experience. Why anyone would choose to travel our beautiful country in a 10 person people mover sign written van, with a retired ex-pat gentleman driver and strangers as your travel companions to a place where there is a line of tourists in front of you, I’m really not sure! What we did know, and what our research confirmed, is that visitors to our country want: “Access to our extraordinary natural environments; Authenticity, new experiences and exclusivity; Personalization, flexibility, simplicity; More privacy, less ostentation, a quieter, more discreet style of luxury; Unique interactions with cultured, real & local people and : Value for their time and effort.”
So, at the time we were finding these things out and creating our business model, we felt an urgency to purchase our flag ship vehicle. We were in “the Tron” for unrelated business, and decided that we should take the opportunity to look at the car yards in the ‘city’ for a vehicle that will tick the boxes in safety, comfort, privacy and a degree of luxury, without being overstated.
Anyway.. The Tron was the best place to look for a vehicle. We test drove pretty much every 7 seater SUV on the market. Hyundai, Toyota, Holden, Ford. The leg room in some was not sufficient, the drive was too bumpy, or the interior wasn’t style- ee enough. I took a whole lot of photos of us at the car yards, trying out the vehicles and I’ve spent the last 2 hours looking for those said photographs, to no avail. Some vehicles were simply overpriced with what was on offer.
The Dodge Journey on the other hand, represented the best value for money and the most comfort. A “deal” was available and we made everything happen within hours to be able to walk out of the car yard with a brand new car on order. It was exciting times.

And then.........well 16 months passed and we are now here..
Finally, we’ve narrowed down our focus, because at first we wanted to provide everything to anyone.. and awaiting some capital investment so that we can really ( actually) properly market ourselves, we will be in business. It’s just a matter of counting down to our complete launch! 3, 2, 1........
