AUTHENTIC, UNIQUE, EXTRAORDINARY, PREMIUM, EXCLUSIVE, LUXURY.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

To transport you in style and comfort, you will travel in a Dodge Journey RT 2015 model. Luxurious but unpretentious, you won’t attract the attention that a limousine or tourist van will – but will travel in comfort with plenty of leg space and ample seating for a family of 5. Travel Down The Line tours and vacations are perfect for a honeymooning couple, 4 friends travelling together or families of up to 3 adults and 2 children or 3 children and 2 adults.

The Dodge Journey RT is truly designed with its passengers in mind with full leather interior, tinted windows, 2nd row in floor storage bins, dual zone temperature control (& personal vents for each passenger that can be individually adjusted), inbuilt DVD & 6 speakers.

All passenger service vehicles need to be certified with the New Zealand Transport Authority, but that doesn’t mean that all passenger service vehicles are equal. Ranging from the classic limousine to the family mini-van, we alone offer a unique mode of transport in a stylish, private and comfortable SUV. The vehicle is complete with a seat for infants and boosters for small children, USB device chargers for 4 devices, hidden chiller floor storage containing individual, complimentary bottles of local fresh water, fresh interior and extra roof and trailer storage for all the recreation gear needed.  Keeping the exterior and interior spotless is all part of our professional image and gives you a luxurious travel experience.

Travel Down The Line provides all the equipment that you’d need and want for a day out or longer depending on your personal itinerary – portable barbeque, surf and boogie boards, beach gazebo, sun-loungers, fishing rods. Tell us what you want to do and we make sure we have the equipment to suit your needs.

WHY TRAVEL DOWN THE LINE?

We want to share the exclusive and memorable experiences available in this part of the world with travellers, so envisaged a service where we can take our new friends to the best off the beaten track attractions and activities. Being driven to amazing sights and adventures in our tiny part of the world and guided along to understand the history and significance of the things you see and do is what we have created for you. We want to make sure you have the time of your life, travel in comfort and have real & meaningful interactions, so that you can experience an authentic ‘kiwi’ day out or longer vacation without missing out on anything that makes Aotearoa (New Zealand) unique.

Travel with us and experience the meaning of ‘manaakitanga’ (hospitality to our manuhiri-visitors) by being chauffeured in a luxury vehicle and experiencing a personalized guided tour of off the beaten track attractions and activities.

WHO ARE YOUR LOCAL HOSTS?

Co-founder and local Eastern Bay of Plenty resident surfer, Lionel is the chauffer and private tour guide for Travel Down The Line. Having worked on New Zealand roads for nearly 20 years, he knows every secret swimming spot, surf spot and scenic spot along the way. He is passionate about New Zealand’s beautiful beaches as places of leisure & recreation where fun and food can be found! His knowledge about the history of the area and understanding of the indigenous culture stems from his connection to the land, being tangata whenua, born and raised in the North Island of NZ and laying down roots in the Eastern Bay where he resides with his wife and 3 children.

We think that the importance of travelling with a local cannot be under estimated. As Lionel is a certified passenger service vehicle driver (P Endorsement), you can be guaranteed of a safe and comfortable journey. You are able to sit back on your passenger seat, relax and learn about the area while resting assured that your chauffer will stop at all the places of interest to you!

And that’s who this business is really about anyway. It’s about you, our guests. So that we know what interests you, we want to hear it directly from you. Skype us or email us, contact us on Facebook, text us or call us. Our tours and vacations are customisable so you can tick your bucket list or travel must dos, and we have loads of great suggestions, so speak to us directly to arrange the tour of your lifetime.

Co-founder and online & customer communications specialist, Erena has been in business and customer service roles for over 10 years. She is most likely the person who you’ll communicate with to plan your tour. We offer a personal travel service and have contacts within the travel industry that we work with to provide you with the best experiences available. Let us know what you want, and Erena will do her best to ensure that it happens. From scenic plane rides to guided overnight bush tours, shopping sprees to simple picnics, being local and involved in the community means that we can match your wants with what’s available.

As a travelling family, couple or friends group, you will get to know both Lionel and Erena well and we hope you will also have the opportunity to meet other locals. The kiwi culture and attitude is sure to be something foreign to you if you’re not from “down under”, but kiwis have a friendly disposition and genuine intentions that shine through in their actions.  Real & authentic interactions and experiences is one of the foremost benefits of choosing to Travel Down The Line.

WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE WE?

We are based in the beautiful sunny Eastern Bay of Plenty.  The area offers raw, serene and safe coastal locations as well as rugged and splendid inland rivers, bush and rural places to explore and enjoy. The small towns and village settlements of the area are a showcase of kiwi scenic attractions, adventure activities, history and culture. Thermal activity from the active and sleeping volcanoes of the area are an noteworthy feature of the Bay of Plenty although there is more to the location then the tourist mecca of Rotorua. Off the beaten track attractions, away from the tourist masses are abundant in this tiny part of the North Island, from the very active volcano Whakaari (White Island) off the shore of the township of Whakatane, to the sleeping giant Putauaki in the small historic paper mill settlement- Kawerau, to the cultural experiences that the local iwi (indigenous tribal groups) share with visitors. For a more authentic kiwi experience, Travel Down The Line recommends exploring the roads less travelled.

We can arrange your entire North Island escape or just your East Coast and Bay of Plenty experiences. A chauffer, private guided tour and personal concierge service is all part of the package offered regardless of where we travel in the North Island. We can find you the best destination specialists for your South island trip and can recommend activities anywhere in New Zealand. We have first-hand experience of the things to do and see in the North Island and only recommend the best activities and attractions that suit your needs and wants.
